Where is my handbook?
Wouldn’t it be great if when we arrived on earth
We were provided with a handbook - your life from birth
A neatly laid out road map that directed you on your way
Wow - that would be amazing, I can hear you say
But would you stop and thumb through those pages
To see what your life map may look like?
Study the mistakes that we are yet to make
So closely, that we restrict how we live day to day
We amble along the road of life
Letting each day unfold
Sometimes fear roots us to the spot
We don’t attempt to break the mould
Sometimes we are blinkered
Reluctant to lift the blindfold
Yet all the while we search for that special spark
If you flicked through the pages
Filled with heartache, grief, hurt and despair
Would you skip these pages?
Walk away from that loving relationship
Don’t take the dream job that burnt you out
Not connect with others to avoid the pain of loss
But we don’t need a fancy handbook to lead us
Sometimes all you need to do is to seize the day
Feel that fear - try something new
It doesn’t matter if you fail - just try and see it through!
Would you live and love differently if you knew the pages of your book?
