Captivating Caldey
Waves gently land on your golden sands
Rolling in rhythm across this holy land
Flowers burst out in a kaleidoscope of colours
Blooming anew for many summers
Birds swoop and sway in the deep blue skies
A quiet beauty before our eyes
I step on the sand and it seeps through my toes
An enchanting island that time simply froze
The sun on the sea glistening like angels’ kisses
The woodland filled with nature’s riches
Bees and butterflies drift on the breeze
Churches tucked away among the majestic trees
Tranquil and perfect - where your soul can be free
Secrets shared between you and your maker
Simple words engraved onto headstones
A slice of paradise surrounded by sea
Is this what heaven might be?
I sink into the soft, silky sand
The whole of nature holding my hand.
