Oh daffodil oh daffodil

When I appear I give hope and spread cheer
When I push through we know Spring is near

I have to compete with the delicate snowdrops
A beautiful carpet of white, dainty flower crops

The crocuses think they are top of the shop
With colours so vibrant they make everything pop

But when I re-emerge from deep underground
I display a fabulous golden, yellow crown

People adore the way I sway in the breeze
I give you joy and a Spring like tease

But what’s the best thing about being a daffodil?
It’s being a symbol of Wales and that’s a real thrill

Remember you don’t have to be big, brash or bold to be admired by others - the simple, humble daffodil gives pleasure to many!
