Boxed Up
Life is like a pile of boxes
All heaped in the corner
Varying shapes and sizes
Dust forming layer upon layer
Upon these sealed boxes
Every day there’s a little bit of you
A bit that you pack away into a box
A bad memory
A scary moment
A moment of anxiety
That argument that you realise was pointless
Good intentions that fell on deaf ears
All put in a box
Pushed into the depths of your mind
Some boxes are re-opened with mixed emotions
Some just keep gathering dust
But you
You keep growing
Every day
So as the pile of boxes grows taller
Maybe you grow a little stronger…..
